34. Podcast Pyjamas

Today was a quickie just to let you know that Batting the Breeze is taking a short break. But don't worry; behind the scenes, everything is still going strong. I'm busy lining up amazing guests to share their experiences with you and putting the final touches on our long-awaited weekly newsletter. This breather gives me a chance to reflect on what's working, gather feedback, and make improvements. I'd love to hear from you, so drop me an email at steve@battingthebreeze.com with your thoughts and suggestions.  A huge thanks to our incredible guests for trusting me with their stories, and a big shout-out to you for supporting the show. Before we return, could you do me a favour? Head over to Apple Podcasts or your preferred platform and leave a review with a few words (yes, that's what the algorithms like!). Let's spread the word and share these amazing stories with more people. Thank you so much! Take care, and I'll be back very soon.

Last week's episode
[Episode 33] – Donut Dollies - During the Vietnam War, a group of courageous women embarked on an extraordinary mission to uplift the spirits of American troops stationed far away from their loved ones. The Donut Dollies. With unwavering bravery, they ventured into war zones, armed only with warm smiles. Their story often goes unheard, but not for my guest today, Penni Evans, who left college at the end of December 1969 to find herself in Vietnam by the March of 1970. She was 22.

Next episode
[Episode 35] - Chronicles of a Serial Dropout - Forced to escape from a war-torn Sri Lanka with his family and move to London, Pradeep Kumar Sachitharan experienced a life of crime as a London teenager before his love for weightlifting gave him discipline and prospects.  After a chance discovery of the benefits of qualifications, Pradeep embarked on an educational whirlwind through six universities leading to vice president of a biotech worth $1.6 billion.  After a chance meeting in a Suzhou hotel in China, things got even better.

Hello, this is Steve. Just a quick episode today to let you know that the show is taking a short [00:00:20] break. In the background, everything's still full steam ahead. I'm cracking on meeting fantastic new guests and recording their experiences to share with you. I'm putting the finishing touches on the long-awaited weekly newsletter where you'll be able to learn more about each guest than is available in the podcast or the show notes and lots of [00:00:40] other stuff. It's been 33 straight episodes since Batting the Breeze launched, and it's just me here. So the small reduction in workload for a short period gives me a chance to step back and think about what's good, what could be improved, consider feedback and so [00:01:00] on.

[00:01:00] Steve: And if you'd like to add to that feedback, what would you change? What wouldn't you change? Who would you like me to speak to and anything else? Drop me an email at steve@battingthebreeze.com. I'd love to hear from you and I answer all the emails that I receive. A quick thanks to my guests [00:01:20] to date who've put a lot of trust in me to present their stories and experiences fairly and professionally. Most importantly, thank you to you for supporting the show. It's difficult to see for sure, but it looks like most people who find us have tended to stick with us, which is amazing.

[00:01:39] Steve: Can I ask you to do [00:01:40] me one favour, which is to pop over and find us in Apple Podcasts or wherever you listen to the show and leave a review, and particularly leave a few words as well as I'm reliably informed that's what the algorithms like, and I want more people to find these amazing stories. [00:02:00] So thank you in advance.

[00:02:02] Steve: Can't wait to see you very shortly. In the meantime, take care.
